“The 4^th Annual Southern Kicking Invitational”

Our Elite Invite-Only Event was full with the 38 athlete spots on the final roster and produced great results, gave great experience and had the best demonstration anywhere.

Kicker, Sam Martin, Appalachian State University, drilled a 60 yard field goal for the demo crowd of over 80 excited onlookers.

Sam then hit a 75 yard Kickoff at 4.50 seconds in hang time.  Sam’s other kickoffs were mostly all above 4.4 seconds in hang time well over 70 yards deep.  Truly one of the greatest ever and headed for the league some day.  Way to go, Sam!

Kicker, Jamie Lindley, University of Georgia, also drilled a 60 yard field goal for the demo crowd of over 80 excited onlookers. 

Jamie then hit a 72 yard Kickoff at 4.54 seconds in hang time.  The new all time kickoff hang time record for a Rafter Pro Training student and probably anywhere!  Jamie’s other kickoffs were mostly all above 4.1 seconds in hang time and 70+ yards as well.  Also, one of the greatest ever and headed for the league some day.  Way to go, Jamie!

Ryan McDaniel put on a long snapping demo that was hard to believe.  The long snap speeds and accuracy had the crowd wowing at each and every ball.  Our best long snapping instructor ever, a great DI career this fall with Southeastern Louisiana University and headed for the league as well.  Thanks, Ryan.  You have once again outdone yourself.

Chandler Anderson, Punter from Georgia Tech, had the crowd’s head high in the sky as he belted some long field punts with many turnovers and several 4.8, 4.9 and a 5.1 second punts.  Best of luck to Chandler at Georgia Tech this fall, I’m sure he will fill in the big shoes in there punting department from last year just fine!

·        As we head into our 5^th year of business in 2008, we are very pleased to once again be hosting one of the best kicking, punting and long snapping events in the country.  Rafter Pro Training’s 4^th Annual Special Teams Invitational during the spring / summer NCAA  Evaluation Period for College Coaches to recruit kickers, punters & long snappers.  This period of time is heavily spent evaluating the 2009 graduating class.

·        It is also a great time to get initial NCAA exposure for the class of 2010 and valuable combine experience for the class of 2011 & 2012.
